BoatNerd Requests Hardware Donations - BoatNerd is requesting donations of used computer hardware and LCD monitors. We are currently in need of a tablet type laptop and video production equipment. This is a good opportunity for a corporation or individual to recycle equipment while receiving a tax credit by donating to our 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. We would be happy to pick up and wipe the data on any donated machines to DOD standards and we have our own licensed software. We would like any equipment starting with a Pentium 4 level processor or higher and any size LCD monitor. This equipment is used to support various features of the site and also placed in regional museums as kiosk type displays. If you have equipment to donate or if your company has a recycling program please contact us.

Last week to reserve your tickets for the BoatNerd Detroit River Cruise aboard the Friendship, with Captain Sam Buchanan on August 7. This year’s cruise will be 4 hours and will go up the Detroit River and, hopefully, into the Rouge River. Pizza lunch will be delivered by the J. W. Westcott mail boat. Cost is just $30 per person, same price as last year.

Do you think you've shot the best boat picture ever? Here's your chance to find out. BoatNerd is holding a photo contest users can submit their best photo (sorry, only 1 per person). The winner will receive a cash prize of $50 and the top winners may be included in a 2011 BoatNerd calendar. A calendar may be also be published, depending on interest and response. This is a good opportunity for a corporation or individual to recycle equipment while receiving a tax credit by donating to our 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. We would be happy to pick up and wipe the data on any donated machines to DOD standards and we have our own licensed software. We would like any equipment starting with a Pentium 4 level processor or higher and any size LCD monitor. This equipment is used to support various features of the site and also placed in regional museums as kiosk type displays. If you have equipment to donate or if your company has a recycling program please contact us.

This is a good opportunity for a corporation or individual to recycle equipment while receiving a tax credit by donating to our 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. We would be happy to pick up and wipe the data on any donated machines to DOD standards and we have our own licensed software. We would like any equipment starting with a Pentium 4 level processor or higher and any size LCD monitor. This equipment is used to support various features of the site and also placed in regional museums as kiosk type displays. New revised and updated discussion boards have been launched. Based on user feed back we have simplified the user interface and tried to make it intuitive. The new system will allow inline attachments and provides better privacy by not publically displaying the user's IP. User accounts are optional, you may still post by simply clicking the "Post New Topic" button. We suggest creating a user account, this will allow you to track new posts and post without entering the security codes every time. We plan to run both boards together until we get a larger pool of user feed back.

BoatNerd Requests Hardware Donations - BoatNerd is requesting donations of used computer hardware and LCD monitors. We are currently in need of a tablet type laptop and video production equipment. This is a good opportunity for a corporation or individual to recycle equipment while receiving a tax credit by donating to our 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. We would be happy to pick up and wipe the data on any donated machines to DOD standards and we have our own licensed software. We would like any equipment starting with a Pentium 4 level processor or higher and any size LCD monitor. This equipment is used to support various features of the site and also placed in regional museums as kiosk type displays. If you have equipment to donate or if your company has a recycling program please contact us.

The St. Lawrence Seaway including the Welland Canal is scheduled to open March 25, 2010 marking the opening of the Seaway's 2010 navigation season.

New revised and updated discussion boards have been launched. Based on user feed back we have simplified the user interface and tried to make it intuitive. The new system will allow inline attachments and provides better privacy by not publically displaying the user's IP. User accounts are optional, you may still post by simply clicking the "Post New Topic" button. We suggest creating a user account, this will allow you to track new posts and post without entering the security codes every time. We plan to run both boards together until we get a larger pool of user feed back.

The opening of the Soo Locks (Poe Lock only) has been moved forward to March 21, 2010 at 7AM marking the beginning of the commercial shipping season on the Great Lakes.

The St. Lawrence Seaway including the Welland Canal remain scheduled to open March 25, 2010 marking the opening of the Seaway's 2010 navigation season.
