The Chronicle Journal reports that Tom Stewart, age 49 years, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, June 18, 2009. Resting at the Harbourview Funeral Centre pending completion of funeral arrangements. I will continue the passage reporting and do my best to follow the level of detail Tom included please contact me at the above address if you can supply the detailed trip and cargo information Tom had access to.

April 7
Canadian Enterprise at Thunder Bay Terminals, departed around 8 p.m. escorted out of the bay by the Risley.

Risley returned later to work with the Agawa Canyon to shift docks.

April 6
Canadian Enterprise shifted from lay-up at Lakehead Marine & Industrial to load at
Thunder Bay Terminals.
USCG Neah Bay at Keefer.
High winds have delayed Thunder Bay arrivals. The Mesabi Miner was anchored in the bay
Monday night. Coast Guard Ship Samuel Risley arrived Monday night and was breaking
ice in the bay. 

April 5
USCG Neah Bay at Keefer.
CSL Assiniboine loaded at Cargill and departed Sunday 7 p.m. for Baie-Comeau.
Algocape departed Mission Terminals 2:30 p.m.
John D. Leitch depart Thunder Bay Terminals around midnight for Superior, Wisc.
Ojibway departed late on the 4th for Windsor.

J.W. Shelley departed Richardson International Elevator early morning for Sorel, Quebec.
CSL Niagara departed Viterra Terminal A, about 4 p.m. for Port-Cartier. 
USCG Biscayne Bay and Neah Bay docked at Keefer, Neah Bay broke ice for the Niagara.

MARCH 28
Algosar departed Petro-Canada 11:30 a.m. USCG Biscayne Bay met Algosar off Welcome Islands
to break ice. USCG Biscayne Bay then broke out the CSL Niagara, wintering at Keefer Terminal.
J.W. Shelley has been anchored all night in harbour off Viterra Terminal, likely waiting for Ojibway to depart.

MARCH 27
USCG Biscayne Bay entered the bay at noon with the Algosar and Ojibway following.
The small Coast Guard ship broke tracks for the arriving vessels. Ojibway stopped in
the bay while the Biscayne Bay worked breaking a track into Petro-Canada for the Algosar.
Algosar docked around 7 p.m.  The Coast Guard ship then worked to get the Ojibway into
Viterra Terminal C.
J.W. Shelly arrived about 9 p.m. All vessel are on their first trip of the season above the locks.
Algosar and Ojibway left Sarnia while the J.W. Shelly departed lay-up in Windsor.

Other lakers wintering in port include:
Algonorth, Algorail, Algolake & Canadian Enterprise at Lake Head Marine.
CSL Niagara at Keefer Terminal.

MARCH 20
USCG Alder (WLB-216) departed about 10:30 a.m. and broke out
the Lakehead Marine & Industrial dock and then worked in the bay.
They docked at 2 p.m. and later left port for Duluth at 6:30 p.m.

MARCH 18, 2009
The U.S. Coast Guard cutter Alder entered Thunder Bay about 8:30 a.m. and broke out the harbor.
The Alder docked about 6:30 p.m. and remained in port overnight.
